EA Charity Launches Tamyr Platform Accelerator for Social Startups in Central Asia, Offering Grants Totaling 130 Million Tenge
The EA Charity Fund has announced the launch of the Tamyr Platform accelerator, fully focused on supporting social startups from Central Asia. The program offers comprehensive support, including in-person training, mentorship, and grants of up to 10 million tenge. Applications open in July 2025.
Tamyr Platform is a non-profit acceleration program by EA Charity, the corporate foundation of the EA Group holding. The project aims to support entrepreneurs committed to creating sustainable social impact. Applications are open to startup teams implementing initiatives in areas such as education, culture, healthcare, and more. Participation in the program is free of charge.
The first cohort of Tamyr Platform will include 20–25 projects. The selection process consists of three stages: an online application, an interview, and an in-person pitch before an Expert Council. Applications will be accepted from July through September 2025. Key selection criteria include demonstrated social impact, team readiness for implementation and reporting, and potential for scalability.
Selected social entrepreneurs will participate in a one-week in-person acceleration residency in Almaty. The program includes educational modules on legal frameworks, fundraising, marketing, team building, financial planning, and more. Mentorship will be provided by EA Group representatives, fund partners, and invited experts from the NGO sector. In addition, there is a post-program phase during which alumni will retain access to the mentorship network.
Top projects that successfully complete the training and final pitch will receive grants ranging from 5 to 10 million tenge. Funding will be disbursed in stages, with mandatory interim and final reporting.
Tamyr Platform is more than just a grant competition. Our goal is to build an infrastructure for the growth of social leaders in the region. We are committed not only to supporting them at the early stage but also to fostering long-term collaboration with those who can truly bring positive change to Central Asia
In Turkic languages, Tamyr means “root” or “foundation.” In the cultural tradition of Central Asia, it also implies a trusted partnership. The organizers emphasize that the program’s aim is not only to provide one-time support but to build long-term relationships with teams working toward systemic change.
The accelerator reflects EA Charity’s strategic focus on developing human capital in Central Asia. According to the foundation, the region already has a growing number of active teams and civic initiatives, yet many still lack access to structured support, growth infrastructure, and expert guidance.
